Every Learner Has Potential.

My Journey as an Educator
Teaching Has Always Been More Than a Profession for Me.
I began my teaching journey in 1984, at the age of 22, soon after completing my postgraduate studies.
My first teaching experience was in a junior college. That early experience introduced me to the joy of working with students, understanding their challenges, and helping them discover their potential.
Eventually, I started my own coaching classes. What began as a small initiative gradually grew into a full-fledged coaching academy.
Over the years, teaching became much more than delivering lessons. It became about understanding people, encouraging them, and helping them believe in themselves.

What My Students Taught Me
Everyone Has the Ability to Learn. Sometimes, They Just Need Someone to Believe in Them.
During my years of teaching, I gradually realised something important:
Every student is capable of learning. But knowledge alone is not always enough.
Some students need encouragement. Some need opportunities to participate. Others need someone to help them overcome their hesitation and discover what they can actually do.
That is why I always encouraged my students to participate in extracurricular activities and become actively involved in classroom life.
Whether it was an activity, a presentation, or something that took them outside their comfort zone, I wanted them to experience participation, not just observation.
I saw how these experiences helped students become more involved, more comfortable, and more confident in their abilities.
That lesson has stayed with me throughout my teaching journey.
Why I Created ConfidEng
Because Attending an English Class Doesn't Always Mean Learning to Speak English.
Over the years, I came across several people who had attended spoken English classes but found themselves struggling with the same difficulties even afterwards.
They had invested time in learning English, yet their ability to express themselves confidently had not changed as much as they had hoped.
This made me reflect on an important question:
Are we giving learners enough opportunities to actually use the language they are learning?
I believe learning a language requires more than listening to explanations or memorising rules. It requires practice, encouragement, and the freedom to make mistakes.
That belief became one of the inspirations behind ConfidEng.
I wanted to create a learning environment where adults could do more than study English.
They could actually use it.
My Approach to Teaching
Before People Can Speak Confidently, They Need to Feel Comfortable.
One of the first things I focus on when I meet a learner is making them feel comfortable.
I don’t want my students to feel that they are being judged every time they speak.
I want them to feel that they are among people who understand their struggles and are willing to support them.
Over time, my relationship with students often becomes more like that of a friend and mentor.
When people feel comfortable, they open up. They share their difficulties, their experiences, and sometimes even their personal challenges.
Understanding these things helps me recognise what may be holding them back and how I can support them better.
What this means in my classes
Comfort Before Correction
A welcoming environment where learners feel at ease.
Open Communication
Understanding each learner's individual challenges.
Active Participation
Active Participation Encouraging learners to participate and express themselves.
Individual Encouragement
Helping people recognise and develop their abilities.
My Belief About Learning English
You Don't Need to Be Perfect to Begin. You Need a Safe Place to Practise.
I firmly believe that everyone can learn a new language.
You don’t have to be naturally gifted.
You don’t have to speak perfect English from day one.
And you certainly don’t have to feel embarrassed about making mistakes.
What you need is an environment where you feel safe enough to try, make mistakes, learn, and try again.
When learners stop worrying about being judged, they begin to participate more freely. And with regular practice, they gradually become more comfortable expressing themselves.
That is the kind of environment I want to create through ConfidEng.
A Personal Message from Me
To Everyone Who Has Ever Hesitated to Speak English...
If you have ever known what you wanted to say but struggled to say it in English, I want you to know something:
Your hesitation does not mean you are incapable.
You may simply need more practice, more encouragement, and the right environment to learn.
At ConfidEng, I want you to feel comfortable being yourself while you learn.
My goal is not to make you afraid of mistakes. It is to help you move beyond them.
Because I believe that every learner has the ability to grow—and sometimes, all they need is someone who believes in them.
